Colt Springfield is a weapons design, development, and manufacturing firm that can trace its roots back to the 19th century. The current incarnation of the company is an amalgamation of two companies that, at one time, were fierce competitors in the weapons industry. In 2035, not long after the public unveiling of the D-Engine, Colt Defense and Springfield Armory merged to form Colt Springfield. Today the company is considered one of the top developers of light weapon systems. Their CS series of handguns are in use by nearly every law enforcement and military agency.
